Ghost Town Fly Fishing has no affiliate relationships, sponsorships, paid placements or commercial partnerships in effect at the time of writing. No link on this site earns Ghost Town money today. This page exists so the standard is published before the first relationship exists, not after.
The standard, once relationships exist
- Any link that can earn Ghost Town money will be disclosed at the point of the link, not only on this page.
- Any sponsored or paid listing will be labelled as such, in place, and will be visually distinct from editorial content.
- This page will name the categories of relationship in effect and when they started.
The firewall
This is the part that matters. Commercial relationships do not influence Ghost Town Intelligence. Rankings, scores, confidence values, hatch and fly intelligence, historical comparisons and the answers Ask Ghost Town gives are produced from evidence and its sources. There is no path by which a paying partner can raise a water's score, be recommended over a better-matched option, or have unfavourable evidence suppressed.
Practically, that means commercial placements live in defined positions — lodging, guides, gear, travel booking — and are labelled there. They are never blended into an intelligence result.
Why say this now
A recommendation engine is only worth reading if you can trust that the recommendation is not for sale. Publishing the boundary before there is any revenue to protect is the only way that commitment means anything.
